Essay

The dissertation is devoted to investigation of nitric oxide system role in the development and compensation of cardiovascular alteration during experimental acute myocardial ischemia-reperfusion. In the experiments on the closed-chest dogs the reciprocal changes of NOS and arginase in the injured myocardium were established. The most important protective mechanisms of nitric oxide include coronary and peripheral vasodilatation as well as antiarrhytmic action. The NO-dependent mechanism of cardioprotective effect of corvitine was proved.
