Essay

It's established that increased concentration of Na+ ions in cytosolic media lead to potential-dependent inhibition and activation kinetic slowing of N- and P-type VDCC. QEHA peptide (specific free Gbg chelator) in 50 uM concentration eliminated all effects caused by increased cytosolic sodium. It's demonstrated that inhibition of HVA Ca2+ channels by sodium ions is mediated by heterotrimeric G-proteins.
