Тhe dissertation about study of cerebral hemodynamics and lipid мetabolism in the patients with ischemic stroke varies with the age. In the middled-aged patients, it was possible to observe the most pronounced complex intima media thickening, the higher incidence of carotid basin vessel stenosing, the smaller internal common carotid artery sizes, and the higher hypo-echogenic atherosclerotic plaques detection, as compared to elderly patients, evidencing for a more "aggressive" atherosclerotic course and for the greater risk of repeated strokes at this age interval. Indices of cerebral hemodynamics in the extra- and intracranial arteries in both patient groups were significantly lower than in control subjects. However, the above changes were more pronounced in middled-aged patients. In the course of elderly post-stroke patients rehabilitation, levels of the cholesterol, LDL, apoB and triglycerides were increased and the contents of antiatherogenic factors, LDL and apo A1
