Essay

The dissertation is focused to the investigation of gene modulation and antitumor properties of culture liquids, cells and lipopolysaccharides (LPS) of two P. syringae pathovars. It has been shown that LPS of P. syringae pv. atrofaciens 8281 and P. syringae pv. coronafaciens 9030 extracted by 0,85% solution of sodium chloride have typical for bacteria of this species chemical composition. It was established that P. syringae pv. atrofaciens 8281 and P. syringae pv. coronafaciens 9030 do not produce compounds with mutagenic activity. LPS of P. syringae pv. atrofaciens 8281 and P. syringae pv. coronafaciens 9030 have antimutagenic activity against spontaneous and induced by bichromate potassium mutagenesis in S. typhimurium test-strains. Antimutagenic activity of both researched LPS are the greatest if they have been added to cells of test-strains simultaneously with mutagen. Juice from wheat leaves infected by P. syringae pv. atrofaciens 8281 and not infected wheat has identical antimutagenic activity.Using tumor formation induced by Agrobacterium tumefaciens on potato explants it was shown that culture liquids, cells disintegrated by ultrasonic sound and LPS of P. syringae pathovars reduce induction of tumors.
