0 M. Comparative Phraseological Units in Modern German: Ways of Formation and Ideography

The dissertation focuses on a study of comparative phraseological units as a phraseological microsystem in German, based on a comprehensive analysis of phraseological similies. Such an approach allowed to highlight the nature of comparative phraseological units formation (primary and secondary phrase-building). The ways of phraseological similies formation were studied parallel to defining the role of image-standard properties actualization in phrase-building, which made possible the study of seme transpositions in the comparative phraseological units constituents. The analysis of semantic and structural comparative phraseological units variations that result from secondary phrase-building is realised alongside with the study of their speech modifications that expose a changeable character of image-standard semantics. Implicit national and cultural charge of the analysed units reflect profound connections between phraseology and national mentality. On this basis the ideographical categorisation of anthropocentric comparative phraseological units with "human psychic activities" component has been studied.
