Krishtopa M. An Application of color Duplex Scanning in the Diagnosis of Localized Forms of Prostate Cancer.

For achievement of a task the checkup data of 52 patients with localized forms of prostate cancer were studied. All the patients have applied for medical care with symptoms of infravesical obstruction without signs a palpated tumor and with high level of prostate-specific antigen. The patients were observed on hospital bases of Donetsk State Medical University from 1995 to 2003. It is proved, that diagnostic value of the standard procedure which includes digital rectal examination, levels of prostate-specific antigen and its fractions, transrectal ultrasound, target multifocal biopsy of prostate, allows to diagnose the localized forms of prostate cancer in 50,90 %. A new diagnostic algorithm that includes digital rectal examination, levels of prostate-specific antigen and its fractions, transrectal ultrasound, studying of blood flow in prostate gland with the help of color duplex scanning was developed. The use of this algorithm allows to increase the efficiency prostate cancer localized forms diagnostics from 50,90 %, up to 94,54 %. An introduction of the results of the given research will allow to increase considerably an exposure of early of prostate cancer forms and to execute radical treatment in proper time.
