The thesis is devoted to A. Sokolovsky's historical prose in connection with aethetic-philosophical realities of his epoch. The author studies genesis, ideological and aethetic paradigms of the writer's artistic heritage, semantic orientation of his psose and specific character of his individual style. On the basis of analysis of the prosaist's works evolution problems and theory of poetry appropriateness of his historical novels and stories are examined, his artistic achievements and errors are revealed, literary criticism of A. Sokolovsky's works is formulated, his place and role in the country's literary process is established.
