Tbileli V. Efficiency of the application of the low frequency magnetic field in the complex treatment of osteoporosis in rheumatoid arthritis

The results of investigations of bone density (according to information of the ultrasound osteodensitometry, markers of bone metabolism), acid-alkaline balance in 105 patients with rheumatoid arthritis with osteoporosis and osteopenia under the influence of usage of physical factors are given. As a result of thorough examination the disorder of bone remodeling has been determined in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.The changes in the processes of acid-alkaline balance (compensated tissue metabolic alkalosis and second acidosis in plasma of blood) have been proved. These changes can result in one of pathogenesis mechanisms of development of osteoporosis at this category of patients. It is scientifically grounded that the complex therapy with low frequency magnetic therapy on the affected joints is the best method of treatment among other methods of treatment and has the most positive influence on the clinic disease manifestations and processes of bone metabolism, on the indicators of the acid-alkalinebalance in tissues. In it s turn it promotes the growth of bone mass both in patients with osteoporosis and at patients with osteopenia with I and II degrees of activity. Application of electrophoresis of bishophit on affected joints has influenced positively the of compensatory effects of acidosis in plasma, stabilizing and increasing bone mass in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The usage of the complex therapy of low frequency magnetic therapy and electrophoresis of bishophit can be recommended to patients with rheumatoid arthritis with osteoporosis and osteopenia with fractures in anamnesis.
