Spilnik T. Gradation in complex compound constructions of modern Ukrainian language

The object of the study – complex and compound constructions with gradation between parts; the purpose – to ascertain the essence of gradation as a peculiar component and to determine the means of its expression in complex and compound constructions of modern Ukrainian language; methods – descriptive, comparison, transformation; novelty – for the first time in Ukrainian linguistics a systematic and complex analysis of complex and compound constructions with gradation has been performed with regard for their formal, semantic and communicative peculiarities on the basis of broad factual material; the theoretical and practical results may be used for giving lectures, writing textbooks, educational supplies and methodical working outs on syntax of Ukrainian language; the field of use – may be employed for study of syntax at high schools.
