Popovych H. The conditions for Institutionalization of Social Work in Ukraine.

Dissertation for the Degree of the Candidate of Sociological Sciences in speciality 22.00.03. - Social Structures and Social Relations. Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2004. The dissertation gives the analysis of the main conditions for the institutionalization of social work: its stipulation by needs (those by individuals and social security of the society), its legitimation (explanation, justification and legalisation of actions for rendering assistance help), its professionalisation. On the basis of phenomenological metodology there has been systematised its theoretical development. There have been revealed the major preconditions for the proffesional establishment of social work in Ukraine at the turn of the XIXth and XXth centuries. There have been considered the specific features of its modern renovation and the interdisciplinary status of the given profession. It has been determined that within the institualisation structure of the society social workpresents an additional social institution oriented at the solution of the problems caused by the negative actions or inactivity of the basic institutions.
