Kudryavtsev Y. Elaboration of the Methods of Preserving Sexual Function after Prostatectomy in Case of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.

The thesis deals with the optimization of the surgery of the benign prostatic hyperplasia in the sexually active patients. The experimental research done on the male dogs proved the positive influence produced by the ligament of the inferior epigastrical artery on the morphofunctional condition of Leidig's cells. There is the new technique of retropubic prostatectomy in combination with double ligament of the inferior epigastrical artery what enabled to preserve the sexual activity in 91% of patients. The investigation shows the correlative interrelation between the condition of the sexual function and the urinary disorders. The present research grounds that the inflammation of prostate worsens the renewal of functional condition of low part of urinary tract and sexual function. The complete absence of sexual activity is observed in 25% of cases of the introvesical prostatectomy, 15% - after the retropubic and 9% - after the retropubic prostatectomy in its own modification.
