Thesis is devoted to research of city passenger transport system functioning regularities and evaluation of its efficiency. For this reason: mathematical model of city passenger transport system functioning has been developed; the methods of inter - district passenger correspondence matrix calculation based on gravitation law of setting has been improved on the basis of mathematical programming methods; function of attractiveness of city passenger transport system routes, specifying redistribution of passenger flows on route network has been obtained by experimenting; regularities of system effectiveness indices changes while it develops on the account of transport means park increase have been exposed on the example of city passenger transport system of Sumy.
