Object of the research - Biometric indices of the growth and development, physiological and biological processes in vegetative organs of clonal rootstock and one-year-old pear trees. Purpose of the research - studying and choosing rootstock for pear-trees, adapted to soil-climatic conditions of the Right-Bank part of the Forest Steppe Zone of Ukraine, well-propagated with vertical layering, compatible with the varieties registered in Ukraine's Register Book of plants. Methods of the research - field, laboratory and comparative trials; determining biometric indices of rootstock and seedlings, mathematic statistics. Practical and theoretical results - clonal rootstock of pear-trees, quince Mliiv and BA29, chosen according to a set of economic, technological and economical indices in a testing and field nursery, are suggested to be used in varietal studies. Novelty - scientifically grounded selection of rootstock and varieties with high economic efficiency, adapted to cultivation in the Forest Steppe of Ukraine. Extent of introduction - at experimental farm of Mliiv institute of horticulture named after L.P. Symyrenko and at Podillia research station of the Institute of horticulture of UAS. Area of utilization - research-experimental institutions in horticulture, National board of Ukraine in cultivation and protection of crop varieties.
