Holyavko I. Social and political vocabulary in press in 90's of ХХTH century (semantic and functional analysis).

The dissertation is dedicated to the semantic and functional analysis of social and political vocabulary in press in the Modern Ukrainian language. The problematics connected to study of language of mass media is analysed, the concepts are determined: publicistic style, political discourse, social and political vocabulary, social and political terms, the aspects of semantic and functional development of the political vocabulary are opened. The classification of social and political vocabulary is developed. The semantic and functional analysis of updatings of semantic structure of social and political lexemes is executed, kinds of expression of a social and ideological appraisal are described. The trends of semantic and functional development of the researched stratum of Lexis are defined. The value of role metaphors in the political communications is defined. The active use of metaphorical models explains that the conceptional spheres, on the basis of which they are constructed, contribute to the comprehension of political processes and forming the defined attitude to them.
