Danylevska O. Language policy of Tsentralna Rada, Hetman Government and Directoria of the Ukrainian People's Republic

The thesis provides a comprehensive analysis of the language policy of Tsentralna Rada, Hetman Government and Directoria of UPR in terms of macrosociolinguistics. The point has been substantiated that the then language-reforming strategy was implemented via status and corpus language planning. A set of normative documents underlying the status work has been singled out from the legislative basis of the Ukrainian governments activities and systematized. A conclusion has been made about the consistent and successive language policy of Tsentralna Rada, Hetman Government and Directoria of UPR. The participation of the state-power bodies in designing the methods of corpus planning has been analysed. The influence of the language policy of Tsentralna Rada, Hetman and Directoria governments on the common consciousness and linguistic behaviour has been demonstrated.
