Treatment modalities and long-term treatment results of acute non-specific pleural empyema with use of minimally invasive surgical interventions is investigated in the study. To elaborate antimicrobial schemes, we have conducted monitoring of isolates from the pleural cavity. On the basis of the results obtained, we have proposed recommendations for etiologic therapy. Closed minimally invasive surgical interventions used in patients with acute empyema have shown good treatment results in 96,9 % of cases.
