Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the Volga zander population in Dniprovs'ke reservoir and firstly in Ukraine presents detailed the zander's biological and ecological characteristics. Peculiarities of the zander's adaptation to the reservoir's conditions were determined. Existence of two local communities in Dniprovs'ke reservoir was argued. Fishery characteristics of the zander in Dniprovs'ke reservoir were studied. Minimal fishery limits for the Volga zander were determined.
