Liavrin B. Lipid metabolism in fishes of small rivers of the Western Podillya

The content of metals (Fe, Co, Mn, Zn, Cu) in water, sediments and coastal soil of three small rivers of Western Podillya (Seret, Strip and Zoloto Lipa), their influence on lipid metabolism in the organism of carp, crucian сarp, perch and pike was studied. Comparative analysis of interspecific features of total lipids content, their fractional composition, as well as activity of lipid peroxidation processes in gills, liver and muscle of the investigated fish species from three small rivers were made. It is shown, that the values of the studied parameters have species and tissue specificity and depend on the conditions of the habitat of the fish. The obtained research results can be used to characterize the state of fish in conditions of pollution of the aquatic environment by metals, as well as for ecological-biochemical monitoring of the level of pollution of water reservoirs.
