Essay

For the first time the complex assessment of the status of blood system of the common rudd, perch, roach and Prussian carp living in water bodies of the Chernobyl NPP Exclusion Zone contaminated by long life radionuclides is presented. Wide spectrum of cytogenetic and morphological abnormalities of cells of erythrocyte series of fish blood, affected by radiation impact was identified. Leucocytes formulas and changes in ratio of structural blood elements depending on radiation dose rate on fish in water bodies of the Chernobyl NPP Exclusion Zone were calculated. By the mean of experimental studies, it was established that in fish living for the long time in water bodies contaminated with radionuclides, the radio-resistance of leucocytes increases under additional irradiation. Also increasing of the spectrum of abnormalities in erythrocytes genetic structures was determined.
