Object is a man's vital world. Aim is the study of solitude as a cultural phenomenon. Methods are systematical and activity one. 3. Solitude is part of a man's vital life, which synthesizes results of perception of natual and social environment, different manifestations of spiritual universum, totality of cultural artefacts, inner spiritual world, which functions in its individual being and socium, in socio-communicative processes. The dissertant builds the analysis of solitude problem during history of culture by way of comparison of local civilizations; analyses historical aspect of phenomenon of solitude.
