Essay

The presented paper deals with investigation of physical aspects of laser radiation scattering process in nemato-cholesteric mixtures and the liquid crystal modulators with high contrast value are developed. The theoretical model of laser radiation scattering is designed, in which the scattering particles with confocal domain structure are identified, and also the selective component in common scattering process is determinates. In cholesteric-nematic transition process the liquid crystal mixtures characterize of polydispersity. In the sample of liquid crystal mixtures are the particles of the different size from 0.5 mkm to 10 mkm. The influence of multiple scattering is includes. The theoretical model experimentally confirmed by investigations of angle allocation of light scattering intensity, and also optical investigations. The increasing of active optical dopand in nematic matrix leads to increasing of size and concentrations of confocal domain, and the increased the scattering on this domains, which leads to increase the contrast of liquid crystal modulator. The new multi structure of liquid crystal modulators of laser radiation based on cholesteric-nematic effect is designed
