The thesis is devoted to the scientific substantiation of the making and development of shcool biology and methodics of teaching biology in Ukraine in the twenties - thirties of XX century. The division into periods of the methodics of teaching biology as a sciences, contens of shcool biology, organizing forms, metods of teaching biology at shcool are considered on the basis of analysis of historikal and pedagogical literatures, curricula, programs, textbooks, methodical supplies, materials of pedagogical press. The creative heritage of methodologists, scientists of our countri O.Buldovski, V.Skorokhod, A.Gacenko, O.Pidgrushna, V.Himich is analyzed.
