Object of the research: social mechanism of post-soviet society transformation; Goal of the research: to ground sociological concept of sociocultural potential as the base of social mechanism of post-soviet society transformation and indicators of its sociocultural features; Methods of the research: comparative analysis, system analysis, typologization; Theoretical and practical results: the theoretical key points of the structural-agency approach in sociology were applied to the research of post-soviet society transformation, there were amplified concept of mechanisms of post-soviet society transformation; Newness: it was ground the concept of sociocultural potential of post-soviet society transformation, based on the mutual structuration of structure and agency, which is the tension between the opportunities given by structure and capabilities of social actors to use them, functioning of social mechanism of transformation is described at the macro- and mesolevels of the process; The level of the application: results were used in courses "Sociology", "Comparative analysis of post-communist society transformation", "Inequalities in contemporary societies" for students of V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University.
