Essay

The subject of the research: the second order Bragg diffraction of electromagnetic fields by ultrasound in crystals. The aim of the study: the development of acoustooptical filters by using the second order Bragg diffraction components in optical and acoustic beams. Techniques and equipment for the investigation: the continued fraction and spectral techniques. The theoretical and applied results, novelty: a solution is given to the problem of light diffraction by ultrasound in uniaxial crystals at an angle equal to the double Dragg angle, and the analytical expressions for second order component amplitudes are obtained by using continued fractions. The field of employment: image spectroscopy.
