This dissertation is the systematic research of the status and prospects of co-operation between Ukraine and the European Union. Bearing in mind Ukraine's strategic goal - membership in the EU, achievements and problems of bilateral cooperation are analysed, the level of accomplishment of Copenhagen EU membership criteria by Ukraine are examined, prospective models for Ukraine's European integration are forecasted, and policy actions to foster Ukraine-the EU cooperation are recommended.
