It was established for the first time, that recombinant Cu-Zn-superoxide dismuthase (SOD) has potent antiulcer effect, which is connected to its ability to inhibit the free radical oxidation processes, improve the state of antioxidant system and bioenergetic processes in stomach tissue in different models of experimental gastric ulcers and in different administration regimens and is more than the effectiveness of the drug of reference.It was studied, that SOD markedly improves the results of therapy with traditional antiulcer drugs in experimental gastric ulcer and it is effective in NSAID-induced gastropathy.It was proved, that SOD has no influence on secretion and motility of GIT and potency of SOD antiulcer effect has chronopharmacological dependence. Thus, SOD is a perspective agent for treatment peptic ulcer
