Essay

Comparison of impact of early administration of captopril, irbesartan and their combination on clinical course, hemodynamic and electrophysiological data in patients with acute myocardial infarction Thesis is based on data of examination of patients with acute myocardial infarction and aims to explore efficacy of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor captopril and angiotensin II -receptor blocker irbesartan and their combination in terms of clinical course, heart homodynamic and electrophysiological properties of myocardium. It has been proven, that early administration of irbersartan as an adjunctive therapy in AMI settings improves clinical course and decreases frequency of left ventricular (LV) aneurisms, prevents development of early LV dilatation and improves segmental contractility. Irbesartan has positive impact on electrophysiological properties of myocardium, namely improves repolarization parameters and decreases activation of sympathetic autonomic system. It has been proven, that combination of two study drugs did not have superiorities over captopril alone.
