Essay

The thesis is devoted to the investigation of forming and functioning of sulfate-reducing bacterium of biofilm like cause of microbiological corrosion. There has been determined that all researching sulfate-reducing bacterium has positive taxis from iron ions. The fact of the correlation between cultures aggressiveness and bacterial adhesion is shown. There has been determined that cathodic polarization - one of the most used method of electrochemical protection of metals-provides of the sulfate-reducing bacterium adhesion. The generation of the extra cellular polymeric substances by biofilm cells and sulfate-reducing bacterium plankton is shown. For investigate of influence on steel corrosion of the extra cellular polymeric substances producing by sulfate-reducing bacterium the new method is used. The base of this method is the use of the thin metal films like indicator of corrosion activity. This method allows in a short time determine of the corrosion activity of the different cultures which has different aggressiveness.
