Potabenko M. Structure and Dynamics of Attitudes of the Ukrainians to Environmental Issues.

The dissertation is devoted to system analysis of structure and dynamics of attitudes of Ukrainian people to the environment and environmental issues. In the thesis concept of "attitudes of people to environmental issues" is conceptualized, effect of the attitudes on relations of a society with the environment is described. Social institutes that regulate relations of society with the environment, social subjects of pressure on the environment and their interaction are considered. Aggregate model of attitudes of people to the environment, environmental issues and nature of interaction of the society with the environment is presented, parameters and integrative indicators of dimension of the attitudes are designed. On the basis of empiric sociological surveys structure, dynamics and social-demographic peculiarities of attitudes of the Ukrainians to environmental problems and attitudes of various social subjects of pressure on the environment to activity of non-governmental envrionmental organizations are analysed. Practical recommendations aimed at increasing efficiency of management over relations of the society with the environment and interactions of social institutes that regulate social relations with the society are developed.
