Essay

The thesis is one of the first attempts inquiry of word-formation of personal names of the modern Slovak literary language. Study of derivatives is carried out on the base of the word-formation analysis of the apelativum names of persons. Principle of formation of agentiva and attributiva personal names in the Slovak language is described in the thesis, productivity of the word-formation methods, types, models, formed bases, word-formation suffixes are found out. The main regularities and tendencies in using of means and methods of formation of personal names in the modern Slovak literary languages are determined.
