The theoretical aspects of frequency method of estimation of efficiency of the system of navigation equipment of the straitened district are expounded. Common expression for estimation of probability of the safe wiring of ship in the set straitened district is got, depending on the structure of the system of navigation equipment. Then researches are devoted to optimization of the system of navigation equipment of the straitened district, the questions of probability distribution of stochastic constituent of lateral declination of ship are considered in this connection, dependence of vector error of observation coordinates on the errors of lines of position and choice of the optimum system of navigation equipment. The results of imitation design of basic dissertation job performances on optimization of the system of navigation equipment of the straitened district are resulted.
