The author has formulation the notion of the civil legal relations participants' right for self-defense, has definition its meaning and legal nature, has distinguished the notions "self-defense", "arbitrariness", "lynch law". The common criteria of this right legality have been analyzed as well as the peculiarities of self-defense of private property and non-property interests and rights, the rights and interest of the responsible legal relations.
