Tkach P. Notion and methods of locution of preference in the Ukrainian language

The object is speech acts with the meaning of preference. The subject is notion and methods of locution of preference. The purpose – to ascertain the essence of preference as a peculiar component and to determine the means of its expression in constructions of modern Ukrainian language. Methods – descriptive, comparison, transformation. Novelty – for the first time in Ukrainian linguistics a systematic analysis of speech acts with the meaning of preference has been performed. The theoretical and practical results may be used for giving lectures, writing textbooks, educational supplies and methodical working outs on syntax of Ukrainian language. The field of use – may be employed for study of syntax at high schools.
