Subject - patients with strictures of the urethra; object - to estimate the role of the immune status in pathogenesis of uncomplicated (USU) and complicated (CSU) strictures of the urethra, to increase the efficacy of medicinal measures in such patients taking into consideration immune and immunocytogenetic peculiarities of the development of the pathogenic process; methods - clinical, immunological, immunocytogenetic, statistic; novelty - for the first time the role of immune disorders in the development of USU and CSU has been confirmed, the peculiarities of the reaction of the immune system in patients with strictures of the urethra (SU) at the different stages of the course of the pathologic process has first been revealed, the prognostic immune criterion of transformation of USU into CSU has first been determined, the complex treatment of patients with SU with the usage of immunomodulator IRS 19 and improved technique of surgical intervention at the expense of the device for the removal of SU andthe urethral catheter of the original construction; has scientifically been grounded; results - the effective method of complex treatment of patients with SU with the usage of immunomodulator IRS 19 and modified methods of surgical intervention which provide the recovery of disordered immune indexes and the reduction of the occurrence of postoperative pyo-inflammatory complications has been developed, it was inculcated into practice at the Urological department of Donetsk Clinical Territorial Medical Union, into the educational process of Medical Higher Schools of Ukraine; application - clinical medicine (Urology), the educational process of the departments of Pathologic Physiology and Urology of Medical Higher Schools.
