Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the investigation of semantic structure of emotional state (ES) verbs depending on their functioning in the conscience of speakers and in literary texts. Contextual analysis of the concerned verbs witnessed the difference of functional-onomasiological characteristics in language execution from language competence. The textual realisation showed greater semantic validity of the verbs that the results of the associative experiment (for those verbs that are actively used in the creation of specially-processed text). Statistical parameters give the possibility to discover the functional importance of ES verbs, their actual place in the process of the creation of the speaking (i.e. language "execution"). On the other hand, not all verbs that belong to language competence are actively realized in texts. This confirms the fact that during the creation of a text, the preference is given to the verbs with wider semantic specialization.
