Essay

The thesis deals with the methodology of teaching professionally oriented monological utterances to Physics and Mathematics students. The research provides theoretical substantiation and practical elaboration of the methodology of teaching professionally oriented monologues-reflection on the basis of specialized English authentic audiotexts. The requirements to the future specialists' foreign languages training in modern society have been reasoned and formulated; the notion of professionally oriented monologue-reflection has been identified and its essential features as well as investigated types have been singled out and analyzed considering its linguistic peculiarities (phonetic, grammar and lexical ones). The conducted research resulted in selection, classification, methodically structured training audiomaterial as well as theoretically substantiated and practically elaborated system of exercises with the aim of teaching professionally oriented monological utterances based on specialized English authentic audiotexts. The effectiveness of the suggested methodology was verified and confirmed during the experimental teaching. Methodological recommendations on how to organize producing English professionally oriented monologues-reflection have been developed and applied in practice in three higher educational establishments, accreditation level III-IV.
