Essay

Influence of nootropic (noophen) and vasoactive (naftidrofuril, tomersol) preparations on the functional state of central nervous system of elderly patients after an ischemic stroke is analysed. Hemispheric peculiarities of the effect of these preparations on the emotional-mnestic activity, cerebral hemodynamics and brain bioelectric activity have been established. With the left hemisphere ishemia localization a more marked metabolic and hemodynamic effect has been displayed and the hemispheric peculiarities of reorganization of intra- and interhemispheric interrelationships of the main rhythms of EEG have been defined. Local peculiarities of the effect of noophen, naftidrofuril and tomersol on the vessels of the carotid and vertebro-basillar basins have been established: noophen improves hypodynamics in VBB vessels, naftidrofuril and tomersol - in carotid basin. The rationale of cerebrum compositum and aesculus compositum to be used in the rehabilitation of elderly patient's after an ischemic stroke has been grounded.
