Essay

It was established that carbachol evoked inward cationic current in guinea-pig ileum smooth muscle cells is comprised of three types of nonselective cationic channels with small, medium and large unitary conductance.. It was found that behaviour of carbachol whole-cell current is mainly determined by the properties of medium conductance channels. The kinetic scheme with four pairs of connected states have been identified.It was found that Ca and Mg caused blocking action. The medium channel gating could occur spontaneously .
