Essay

Approximate model structural and parametric identification methods based on selection variation are studied in the paper. A special attention is placed on such selection variation methods as jackknife and bootstrap. The main theoretic result of dissertation is the next: the last method should take priority of the first one under the assumption both methods are valid. Obtained theoretic results are applied to the building of an approximate model of cutting process with a solid studded cutter for the tool geometry and cutting mode optimization with the purpose of tool life growth.
