The object is the category of evaluation in modern Ukrainian language. The aim is the means of expression of the category of evaluation in the publicistic and informative texts. Methods are descriptive, contextual-occasional, classification, quantitative-statistical, receptions of the distributive and component analysis. The thesis deals with the correlation of logical-philosophical and proper linguistic aspects of evaluating of the category; its structure is substantiated; semantic-pragmatic peculiarities of realization of evaluation sense is analyzed. The structure of functional-semantic sphere of evaluation in modern Ukrainian language has been investigated and its main and peripheral components have been determined. The communicative - pragmatic and linguistic-stylistic features of publicistic and information kinds of speech. The means of evaluation at lexical, world-building, phraseological, syntactic levels are determined and described in the thesis; peculiarities of their functioning in the publicistic and informative texts are investigated. The communicative conditionality of creative expressing-evaluative effect in the main genres of the publicistic and informative styles is observed and compared in the thesis, the comparative characteristic of evaluative means in the publicistic and informative texts is performed.
