Turchak O. Оccasionalisms in the Ukrainian press language in the 90-s of the XX-th century

The object is occasionalisms in the language of the Ukrainian press of the 90-s, XX centuy. The aims is a complex lexico-semantical, structural and word-building, and stulistic-expressive analysis of occasionalisms in the language of the Ukrainian press of the 90-s, XX century. Methods - the language observation method, the sunchronical and descriptional method, the lexico-semantical method, the communicative and functional method, the synthesis, the method of derivative and componental analysis, the method of contextual and semantic analysis. The main theoretical points of the occasionalism issue have been analysed; the current linguistic criteria of differentiation of the terms "an occasional unit", "a neologism", "a potential word" have been considered; the main features of the occasional units have been characterized. The main extralingual and intralingual factors, due to which occasionalisms appeared in the press language in the period under consideration. The structure, meaning, part of speech the occasional units belong to the most effective ways of the occasional word formation have been determined; functional and stylistic peculiarities of the occasional units have been cleared up. The complex analysis of occasionalism will help to create the complete picrure of contemporary Ukrainian word-building and to expose its peculiarities. Sphere of use is training courses.
