OObject of the study: Central form of POS. Purpose of the study: To improve the results of treatment of the patients with central form of POS by means of development of complex therapy basing on the study of the clinical course and functional state of hypothalamo-hypophyseo-ovarian system. Methods of the study: Clinical, hormonal, instrumental, histomorphological, statistical. Practical significance: The findings of the work allow increasing the percentage of successful treatment of the women with central form of POS as to restoration of menstrual and reproductive function. A new complex approach to treatment of the patients with the above pathology was worked out basing on the findings of the research. Recommendations as to the post-operative rehabilitation and therapy were worked out. The use of a new complex treatment allows enlarging the range of the methods for correction of hormonal disorders in patients with central form of POS. Novelty of the obtained results: For the first time, the use of suspension of cerebral neural tissue (SCNT) was suggested with the purpose of normalizing the function of hypothalamo-hypophyseo-ovarian system and correction of hormonal disorders both independently and in combination with laparoscopic wedge-like resection of the ovaries (LWRO) and argon-beam coagulation (ABC), which promotes restoration of the reproductive system in these patients (permitted by the Committee on Bioethics of Insti-tute for Problems of Cryobiology and Cryomedicine, record of proceedings No. 2 dated 18.04.2002). It was established that SCNT produced a neuromodulating effect on the function of hypothalamo-hypophyseal system in patients with central form of POS, provided increase of the level of dopamine and reduction of the level of serotonin in the blood serum, which, in turn, normalized gonadotropic hormone ratio and facilitated ovulation restoration. Comparative evaluation of the efficacy of SCNT application with the purpose of correction of hormonal disorders in patients with central form ofPOS and LWRO and ABC as well as with simultaneous use of these two methods was done. It was shown that in patients with central form of POS application of SCNT after LWRO and ABC effectively normalized hormone homeostasis. Introduction: The findings of the research were introduced into clinical practice of maternity hospitals No. 1, 4, 5, 6 and gynecology department of Railway Hospital (Kharkiv). Theoretical ideas and conclusions of the work are used in the teaching process of obstetrics and gynecology departments of Kharkiv State Medical University, Kharkiv Medical Academy for Post-graduate Training. The results of the work are published in the methodical recom-mendations ("Polycystic ovary syndrome"), a declarative patent for invention was obtained (№ 41047А "A method of treatment of central form of polycystic ovary syndrome", 15.08.2001). Sphere of application: medicine, obstetrics and gynecology.
