Object of the study: Patients with psoriasis. Purpose of the study: To improve the efficacy of psoriasis treatment, in particular, to reduce the duration of treatment, prolong the remission by developing and introducing a new pathogenetically substantiated method of treatment with the consideration of collagen-formation process. Methods of the investigation: General clinical, history taking, determining the form, dissemination, duration of the disease, control of the therapy efficacy, laboratory studies, histological and histochemical, morphometric, immunomorphological, immunological, statistical methods. Theoretical and practical results: An accessible method of psoriasis treatment with the use of Difenin and activated charcoal was worked out. The use of Difenin and charcoal allowed reduction of the hospital stay, prolong the remission, reduce the relapse incidence and did not produce side-effects and complications. Novelty: The immunomorphological study of collagen in patients with psoriasis demonstrated the cells of type III and IV collagen destruction in the vessels of the microcirculation bed of the derma. For the first time, Difenin was used to treat psoriasis. Treatment with Difenin and activated charcoal normalized the morphofunctional state of the skin, the parameters of cellular, humoral and phagocyte immunity, restored the connective-tissue framework and collagen structure of the derma in patients with psoriasis. High clinical efficacy of the complex method of treatment with the use of Difenin and activated charcoal was proven. The use of complex therapy allowed to reduce the terms of recovery, achieve more stable remission and reduce the in-cidence of relapses. The obtained data allowed specifying the ideas about psoriasis pathogenesis. Degree of introduction: The method of psoriasis treatment with the use of Difenin and enterosorbents was introduced into practice of dermatovenereology department of Central City Clinical Hospitals (Kyiv), Dnipropetrovsk City Dermatovenereological Hospital, CityDermatovenereological Hospital No. 5 (Kharkiv). The obtained findings are used in the teaching process and scientific work of Department of skin and venereal diseases and AIDS of Kharkiv State medical University, Department of skin and venereal disease with a course of AIDS of Bogomolets National Medical University (Kyiv), the course of skin and venereal diseases of Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy (Poltava). Sphere of application: Medicine, dermatovenereolgy de-partments, hospitals.
