In the thesis the stages and peculiarities of the development of the legislation of scientific workers pension provision are investigated, legal regulation of pension provision in international-legal acts and, in particular, in multilateral and bilateral agreements is studied; the concept of scientific pension is defined and the classification of its kinds is given; the specific character of legal relationship concerning scientific workers pension provision, object, subject structure, the substance of pension legal relationship are investigated; legal facts as the cause for the origin, change and suspension of pension legal relationship are analysed; the peculiarities of legal regulations of scientific workers pension provision (in particular, the pension (insurance) length of service, taking into account various kinds of earnings that are included in the calculation of scientific pensions, etc.) are investigated; the proposals for the improvement of categorial structure are elaborated; the proposals for the improvement of the legislation in force which regulates pension relationship of scientific staff and its application are formulated.
