Kramarchuk C. The poetic image of architectural subject environment (for example Ukrainian folk architecture)

The Ph.D. thesis is devoted to 1) the determination of categorical notion characteristics of poetic image in the field of Ukrainian folk architecture; 2) the research of emotional and information forming potential of poetic image of architectural subject environment (image interpretation and synthetic accumulation of its poetics), 3) means and principles of poetic image formation. Poetic image is characterized by three expression levels: imaginational, intellectual and moral. For the first time, the interpretative potential of poetic image of architectural subject environment is revealed due to the three means of its fixation: Meta-, Auto- and Mythological poetics. Meta-poetics fixes the archetypes of the nature in image; Auto-poetics reveals the genotypic description of image through the thought and the word image. Mythological poetics reveals the compositional basis of organization of architectural subject environment which is represented in the national cultural world formation models. The exploration of poetic image is based on the methodical rules of poetic determination which allow for semiotic analysis of architectural creations, art and design. The revealed factors of the poetic image formation are the following: theoretical poetic constituents (Meta-, Auto- and Mythological poetics) and physical constituents (nature, architecture, ethnos and mode of life) of Ukrainian folk architecture. The constituents form the semantic model of the formation of poetic image of the architectural subject environment which reveals its symbolic sign structure. Archetype, genotype and morph type which are the medium of the symbol senses belong to the categorical characteristics of poetic image. The senses of symbol are expressed by the alphabets of nature signs, ethnos, architecture and mode of life. Formal means of expression of art language of poetic image are the alphabets of signs, alphabets of relations and the alphabets of compositional schemes. The poetical devices are represented by metaphors, synecdoche, metonymy, antonomasia, metalepsis which form the thematic codes of the art language of poetic image (mythological religious, historical fabulous, folklore and exotic codes).The theoretical foundation and the methodical tools of the poetic image formation (symbolic sign structure of poetic image, national cultural world formation models, formal means of art language expression, poetic devices, thematic codes of art language, regularities of poetic image formation, the bases of symbolic sign systems from different origins) can be used on practice and in the theory of architectural design, building, buildings restoration, environment design. They also serve as an analog to carry out the scientific research.
