Essay

The thesis addresses the problem of Ukrainian-German relations in the 1990s. It highlights the formation and the development of political, economic, scientific/technical and humanitarian relations between the two countries as well as examines the main directions of cooperation. The thesis indicates that Germany no less than Ukraine was interested in the expansion of bilateral relations in all spheres and discloses some economic problems that hindered the development of the Ukrainian-German cooperation and analyses positive changes in Germany's attitude to independent Ukraine, which played an important role in the formation of new politico-legal relations and consequently facilitated the development of trade and economic cooperation. The thesis also examines the development and expansion of scientific/technical and humanitarian cooperation.
