Dutka Y. Tumors of extrahepatic bile ducts: current aspects of diagnosis and surgical treatment

Dissertation is dedicated to the research of emerging problems of diagnosis and surgical treatment for tumors of the extrahepatic bile ducts (EHBD). Complex investigation of the results of clinical, physical, laboratory, and morphological studies have been conducted in 195 patients with EHBD tumors. On the basis of analysis of the clinical material, schedule for the verification of the disease has been suggested. Efficient methods of management have been elaborated in regard to the patients’ age, general health status, location and stages of the tumor processes. In the tactics of treatment, indications for the employment of non-invasive methods and intra-arterial chemotherapy methods have been determined.
