Zabolotna N. "The Development of Synonymy in the Ukrainian Language in the II half of the 17th century - the I half of the 18th century (on material of Old-Ukrainian poetry, prose and drama)"

In the dissertation theoretical principles of the system historical analysis of synonymy are formulated. For the first time complex analysis of synonymy on material of different genres baroque texts is determined. Synonym rows are reconstructed. Specifics of relations between synonym units, functional characteristics, genetical and semantical sources of synonymy are determined. Existence of interlingual synonymy is grounded as productive phenomenon of the epoch in connection with baroque aesthetics influence on the reinforcement the Ukrainian language lexicon expression possibilities reserves. Attention is paid to author innovations in lexical synonymy in the general channel of synonym rows enlargement. The analyzed epoch is defined as the period of synonym resources accumulation, general tendencies in the development of the Old-Ukrainian lexical synonymy are observed.
