Zholudenko O. Building of precocious breeding material of a potato

Object: breeding selection material from crossing and selfpollination of the initial parental forms and of potato cultivars. Aim: to develop early-maturing material valuable for potato breeding/selection based on cultivars and hybrids of interspecific origin. Methods: laboratory, field, selection, biochemical, statistical. Novelty: the complex of economical-valuable characters of early-matioring generation obtained from cultivars and hybrids of interspecifie origin is improved. The principles and methods of choosing parental pairs are determined, there is shown the opportunity to apply the ways for early-maturing evaluction. Results: there are created 17 early, 15 middleearly experimental hydrids and 4 potato cultivars Application stage: 3 potato cultivars have intered the plant Variety List of Ukraine, 1 cultivar has recognized been as perspective for 2005. Application area: breeding establishments UAAN, the farm of the AIC.
