Essay

The expression of the concept "steppe" in the Ukrainian verbal world image is investigated in the paper. The structural semantic, derivational, syntagmatic and textual analyses of the words that belong to the lexical-semantic group "steppe" were conducted. The analysis of these words in the folk-lore and fiction of the Ukrainian writers of the XIX-XX centuries was made to determine the dynamics of the concept verbal expression. To determine the reflection of this concept by our contemporaries the psycholinguistical experiment was hold.
